Club History
Boisdale and Briagolong had contrasting histories prior to their merger in 1982. Boisdale had been an active member of the North Gippsland Football League since 1965, claiming a Senior flag in 1970 and finishing second twice, whereas Briagolong had been in recess for the past three decades. The merged club competed initially in the NGFL before transferring to the Riviera Football League in 1986. Its record in the RFL was excellent, involving half a dozen senior grade grand final appearances for three premierships.
After the dissolution of the RFL, in 2004, the Bombers resumed in the NGFNL, introducing a number of netball teams in the process, and became known as the Boisdale Briagolong Football Netball Club. In the years following, the club struggled to field competitive teams initially but showed gradual improvement culminating in finals appearances in 2008 and 2009. In the years following, the club continued to battle to compete with the teams from the bigger towns in the league and eventually voted to join the East Gippsland Football Netball League, in 2015, in which it now still competes.
